"SOL", the rhythm section past and present:

Percussion/backup vocals: Mark Clark
A native of Santa Fe, Mark has toured the world with various renowned musical acts. Aside from playing with MANZANARES, Mark records and tours with Sony Music recording artist Ottmar Liebert and Rainsong Records recording artist Jono Manson. Mark endorses Latin Percussion, Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth Sticks and Aquarian Drumheads.

Congas/Guitar/backup vocals: Kevin Miller
A native New Mexican and primo (cousin) of Michael and David, has also had a rich musical history having played with a myriad of local powerhouse musicians. His multi-talented musicality adds a rich texture to the band. He continues to play guitar and sing back-up vocals and is now the band's primary conga player.

Tenor Saxophone : Kanoa Kaluhiwa joins the band on tenor saxophone. His silky smooth jazz infusions add yet another dimension to the music of MANZANARES and his sax riffs stand out on the new CD, Nuevo Latino. He has also recorded and toured with Ottmar Liebert.

Bass : Jose Romero has been a part of the Santa Fe music scene ever since he could hold a guitar. This multi-talented musician rocks on keys, guitar, bass, and just about every musical instrument he picks up. He holds down the big bass sound for MANZANARES

Bass/backup vocals: Jeff Nelson
Jeff grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has won numerous awards including NMMIC awards and ADDY awards. Jeff recorded and toured for four years with the masters of Funk group Cameo, touring in the U.S., Europe & Japan. He has performed on "Soul Train", MTV, and BET, as well as with Buff Love, Juan Gabriel, Jose Jose, Busy McCarroll, Jack Cliff, Carlos Lomas and countless others. A member of BMI and one of Santa Fe's most accomplished producers and musical arrangers -- He performs, records and tours throughout the world.

Percussion: Bjorn Hamre
Bjorn, a native Santa Fean, has been on the music scene for the past 7years playing with the alternative rock band, Standing Wave. Bjorn brings his outstanding talent and varied musical background to the group! He is a percussive powerhouse and adds to the the MANZANARES sound.

Percussion: Michael Chavez
Michael is from Albuquerque, NM and has played with the top local acts for the past 7years. Prior to Santa Fe, he was involved in the Austin music scene. His influences range from Latin, Funk, Jazz, to Rock and Blues. Michael also continues to tour with Sony Music recording artist Ottmar Liebert.

Bass: Bill Saitta
Originally from Palm Springs, Bill now makes his home in Palm Desert, California. Bill jammed with us during our West Coast performances and his talent added so much to the music! Bill also contributed his amazing bass to the "Nuevo Latino" CD. Bill plays with the Palm Springs based latin band, Mamborama.

Congas: Diego "Eso" Maestas
Diego, originally from Ashland, Oregon, moved to Santa Fe at an early age. His influences are Santana, War, the Afro-Cuban IraKere and Los Van Van. He draws inspiration from conga players; Francisco Aguabella, Daniel Ponce and Roberto Vizcarino.

.Bass: Marco Topo
Marco hails from Milano, Italy and now lives in Santa Fe. Aside from the bass, Marco adds to the music on flute. His influences are Jaco Pastorius, Gary Willis and Carles Benavent. Marco also plays with Flamenco guitarist/Narada recording artist Chuscales and Santa Fe guitarist/New Earth recording artist James Bobchak.
